Zachary Residence // Mesa, AZ
SRP in Mesa is the only utility we have come across that charges residences for demand (kW) on electric bills, in addition to energy (kWh) which is standard. So, in addition to the 13.6 kW solar system, GWP installed a controller for the air-conditioning units to cut one of the two depending on the solar production. By tying the AC controller to the solar array, we insured that only when it was NOT hot and sunny, could the AC unit be cut off, thus not sacrificing any quality of life.
